How To Play On BurningWoW

You need to install both World of Warcraft & World of Warcraft – The Burning Crusade.

After you do this, delete the icon on your desktop. Navigate to Program Files/World of Warcraft and locate your WoW icon. There will be 2 different icons with a big “W”. One says Launcher. The other says WoW. Right click the one that says WoW and create a shortcut to your Desktop. By doing this you will prevent automatic updates that will upgrade your game to a version that the server may not yet be compatible with.

Once you have done that, start the game to see what version you are running. This is done by looking in the bottom left hand corner of the sign-in screen.

Once you have that information, download and apply all the patches up to version 2.4.3.

Once that is done, register an account by going to

http://burningwow.servegame.com/signup.php

After you have completed that, navigate back to Program Files/World of Warcraft and find your realmlist file. Right click this file and open it with Notepad. Delete all of the text and in its place paste in:

set realmlist burningwow.servegame.com

Save the file and close out all your folders.

Start up the game using the new icon you placed on your Desktop. Look in the bottom left and verify that you are running version 2.4.3. If that checks out, sign in using the Account name and password you signed up with.

Once you’ve logged in, select a realm, create a character and enter the game.

*Note – If you use this guide as a reference, please verify which version of WoW the server is currently running prior to downloading and installing your patches. As of today we are compatible with v2.4.3 but this is subject to change as new patches are introduced.
