Together, lets tighten up our belts a little more and await for further confirmations from the admins. The rise of  the Burning WoW Community and the answer to all our confusions lie in their hands.

Burning WoW is closing its doors for good.

Several private servers were notified that if they did not cease and desist all activity on their individual servers immediately, they would be subject to criminal prosecution for violating terms within the DMCA. (Digital Millennium Copyright Act)

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act is a United States copyright law that implements two 1996 treaties of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). It criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services intended to circumvent measures (commonly known as Digital Rights Management or DRM) that control access to copyrighted works and it also criminalizes the act of circumventing an access control, whether or not there is actual infringement of copyright itself. In addition, the DMCA heightens the penalties for copyright infringement on the Internet. Passed on October 12, 1998 by a unanimous vote in the U.S. Senate and signed into law by President Bill Clinton on October 28, 1998, the DMCA amended Title 17 of the United States Code to extend the reach of copyright, while limiting the liability of the providers of on-line services for copyright infringement by their users.

Based on this this notification, our server manager Kandyman had no other choice but to comply with Blizzard’s demand to shut down Burning WoW immediately.

We know that this comes as a great shock to you all. The BWoW Staff shares your pain. We have all spent countless days, even years for some, on this server we have all grown to love. We have made many friends along the way. So it is with my deepest regret to report this sad news to you.

Please understand that if there was something that could have been done, it would have been done. But we were faced with no other choice.

Burning WoW would like to thank you all for your contributions to our community and for your tremendous support. We wish you happiness and good fortune as we all depart to go our separate ways.

When you look back, remember the good times we shared here. Remember the ups and the downs. There is no pleasure without pain. Remember the challenges you faced. And how you overcame them. Take that with you in life.

Most of all, remember each other. For it was the people who made us what we became. Remember the friendship and love we shared. For they can NEVER take our memories from us.

When I reached 70, I realized I had to join some instances in order to get those gears. But oh noez, I never thought it would be hard to find groups, whisper friends for invite, and most of all, stay away from the creepy ninjas who would go steal the gears I wanted. Being part of so many factions matters a lot here otherwise, you wouldn’t be able to enjoy any of it. But come to think of it, what lies after that? How’s it gonna be like after yearning for a complete set of gears and having to get all of it? Is there still a life in BWoW?

A lot would be doing raids for sure as it is already assumed that you can never be 70 if you don’t have what it takes, fully equipped with gears, and endless array of weapons and armors, oh and don’t forget the gems and enchants that have to be thought of piece by piece just to have the most invincible set. Few would go grinding for reputation. It won’t be easy I tell you. Some quest items entails at least 800 pieces just to level one’s reputation to revered, and that’s gonna take days or even months to finish. Furthermore, quite a large number of players would go for leveling their professions or better yet shift to another one just to satisfy their curiosity of what seemed beneficial and would suit their needs.

Some are practicing their pvp skills, probably go to battlegrounds, spend time killing hordes and stealing flags, or join arena groups.  More would actually think of leveling another char in other realms, just to expose themselves to the different talents each race or class is known for obtaining. I have known quite a few people having at least 18-20 characters and all of which are level 70.

For some others, spamming is their life.  All that matters to them are the guild, raid chats, whispers, and channels. It would surely bring a great deal of smiles to so many faces every time there’s gonna be a funny scenario and/or expressions being uttered by one of the players. It’s something to look forward to.  For some freaks like me, I’d prefer to get new dresses and just loiter around SW talking to some friends and tease whoever is in the pedestal of harassment, not in a bad way though.

But beyond all these, its quite obvious that most of us, can’t even wait another day to login BWoW and get to talk to our friends and eventually, get to meet new ones. Life as a 70 is not really boring if you just know how to go beyond your imagination and surpass your limits.

In order to quell the accusations he is “elitist” and “inexperienced,” Sen. Barack Obama announced Tuesday he had begun playing World of Warcraft between campaign stops.

“He is sick and tired of all the slander,” spokeswoman Taryn Tillson said. “So now he’s killing two birds with one stone. Literally. Sometimes even three birds.”

The idea first surfaced while he was campaigning for the Democratic nomination against Sen. Hillary Clinton, Tillson said. After being called “inexperienced,” Obama quickly created an exploratory committee to find out what the average American enjoys doing in their free time. A quick Google search by the campaign found that nearly 10 million gamers subscribe to World of Warcraft, the massively multiplayer online role-playing game originally released in 2004.

With that information, Obama decided to become the newest resident of Azeroth. As a human mage, he hopes he can cast the same spell in the video game as he has over America, Tillson said.

“We want to show America that Barack is more common-man than Superman,” Tillson said. “And these World of Warcraft votes could make a difference come November. That is, if we can motivate them to get offline long enough to vote.”

But it wasn’t until after Obama had begun playing the game that the Obama campaign discovered the game also provided unforeseen benefits to the Illinois senator. While it is unlikely he’ll discover how to cast fireballs at his political opponents, his campaign advisers are urging him to play up the experience he is gaining in military situations.

“Any type of battle helps for someone as inexperienced as Obama,” said Jeff Michael, a Republican political strategist who has leveled his Troll character up to level 68. “Especially when he is campaigning against a war hero.”

The campaign spokeswoman also announced Obama has started unprecedented peace negotiations with the Horde, an alliance of Orcs, Blood Elves and Trolls often called “evil” by casual gamers. While the negotiations have been completely unsuccessful so far, as the Horde has responded by killing his character several times, Obama has yet to give up hope each time he automatically comes back to life.

The McCain camp did not release an official response. However, someone close to McCain – who asked to remain anonymous – worries this will limit McCain’s influence with the vital gamer vote.

“He’s said it himself before. He doesn’t text and he doesn’t really Google,” the source stated. “What the public doesn’t know is, his favorite game is PONG. Not because he likes it all that much, but because he still thinks it’s the latest video game on the market.”

Now we must find a way to enlighten him about burningWoW

Azshara is obviously, a test realm. What this means is that when the Developers of Burning-WoW are working on an update for the more highly populated realms, this gives the developers a “trial” run. If there are any problems with an update (exploits, bugs, NPC quest problems, stability, etc.) these do not apply to the other realms. Now obviously, the staff cannot account for every problem that may occur with an update. They often rely on the players of Azshara to catch these bugs. Without Azshara, the majority of the problems would be directly applied to the other realms. As you can imagine, this would not bode well for the players.

One thing the developers cannot factor into this equation of trail and error, is simply the stress of a higher populated server. As you may know, the population of Azshara simply cannot compare to the population of say, Netherstorm. I can almost assure you that if the population of Azshara were to compare to one of the more popular realms, there would be a great deal of highly effective fixes. This would essentially give the developers the tools necessary to properly account for problems that would need attention.

Azshara is a quite unique realm in itself. Not only does it have an increased drop rate and experience, it also boasts a level cap of 80. You will also find that different factions are given specific skills and spells.

Have you ever wanted to try a certain build for your character, but didn’t want to invest the time of trial and error? You could try making that character on Azshara to see if that’s the build that suits your needs. I know that I myself have invested time and  my hard earned gold into a character i did not much care for. I learned to try the build on Azshara before hand to prevent this. By following this advice, you wont only be helping yourself, but helping the developers to collect data.

So go ahead, spend some time on Azshara. You may even make a few friends there.

It’s amazing that Blizzard is still so committed to improving their titles even after many, many years. The latest update being to StarCraft. This new patch brings the game up to v1.16.

The new patch is available for the standalone game and the Brood Wars expansion and is available here on the Blizzard website.

Feature Changes:
- In-game chat is now saved in replays. Note: whispers are not saved.
- Hitting the Escape key while in the chat room will clear your typed text.
- “/reply” (or just “/r”) will send a whisper to person who most recently whispered you.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed localisation issues with “from” and “to” in whispers.
- Starcraft now only uses as much CPU as it needs to run smoothly.

Exploits:
- Fixed an exploit which allowed Zerg players to gain minerals through mutations.
- Fixed an exploit which allowed Zerg players to recycle an upgrading building.
- Fixed an exploit which allowed Zerg players to extend their creep with a drone.
- Fixed an exploit which allowed Zerg players to move Drones over impassable terrain.
- Fixed an exploit which allowed Terran players to drop a nuke anywhere on the map.
- Fixed an exploit which allowed players to pause the game while in the pre-game lobby.

Contrary to popular belief, i am not a robot, but an actual human being. With that being said, a little bit about myself.

Currently, im a 21 year old Gamestop employee. Also, im currently a college student studying Kinesilogy and physical rehabilitation. In my downtime, i like to play a bit of World of Warcraft.

When i first started on the server i made a Draenei Paladin. To be honest, using a character thats able to take some abuse and then heal themselves just seemed the right choice for me.

In my time on this server i have had the distinguished pleasure of meeting some wonderful people. It seems that the most appealing and addicting part of playing on a large scale server is the amount of friends you make in such a short period of time. This obviously makes for long nights and early mornings. Honestly, i dont particularly like raiding, but simply the conversations you have WHILE raiding. Im sure that we have all had instances where we find ourselves actually laughing out loud from something that was said or done.

Playing on Netherstorm, for me, has been a wonderful experience. I have played a bit of retail, and i can honestly say that retail is at best, grueling. It seems that playing on a faster paced server allows for someone to actully experience more of the game. At my job i speak to people who play retail regularly. I ask them about certain instances and they are just astonished at some of my experiences. Retail, honestly is just not for me.

I honestly feel somewhat honored to become an author for the Burning WoW blog. I hope to soon be able to start writing some interesting stories and experiences, and be allowed to converse with people who do just the same.

The only thing that we have to improvise in the guide is when we reach artisan – we have to go to BERT in any major cities to train for it so we can proceed.. all the rest of the instructions remain the same till you reach 300. 

Lets talk about the very controversial 300 fishing skill thingy…

I realized the reason why we cannot head on to 300+ is because the fishing icon, which is supposed to be replaced as MASTER right after purchasing the master booklet from the vendor in zangamarsh, isnt updated  automatically (it remains to be ARTISAN). YOu can check it out by pressing C then click on the “skills” tab under fishing its still 300/300.  

Normally, whenever we finish training from whatever profession, we assume that the icons found in our action bars are automatically updated to what we just learned but in this case it isn’t.   Thus,  we have to manually click and or replace it by dragging the said icon from our spellbook to the action bar in order to make it 300/375. 

You can level 300 to 375 in these particular zones (just refer to the mini map):  Also, one good thing about fishing in terrokar is you can actually get the furious crawdad thingys which are badly needed to level cooking til 375. 

 TERROKAR FORREST   -   300 to 350

Then to QD from 350 to 375

There are but few people who found this guide effective and were able to level their fishing so why not give it a try.. Remember, its uncool to loiter around and ask anybody whether or not fishing is bugged and what to do with it…   PLUS IT CANT MAKE YOU SLEEP coz you all are wow fishing addicts.. hmm
